Proposed New Rutland Hall

Noise Control & Light Pollution

There are bound to be restrictions on late night opening given that the building is in a residential area, no outside drinking after 10 pm, for example.

Noise from within the building can be designed out by introducing a high level of insulation and double or triple glazing, or by the use of technology.

Light pollution has already been addressed in a previous application by the Tennis Club in connection with flood lighting for the courts. Nothing on this building will reach anything like those levels. External signage and security lighting will be designed and controlled at a low level whilst maintaining the safety of all users of the building.

For additional security a CCTV system will be introduced, entry controlled by the management. Provision must be made for limited access out of hours for junior tennis coaching and early morning practice sessions etc.
